X-Men 137 cover

Incorrigible disdain for rulers evident in lettering.  Need to find flesh-colored ink pen, art stix smear too much.  What a tough life, right?

Amazing Spider-Man 238 cover

Bought some Rose Art markers, they're much easier to color with than oil pastels and art stix.  Just need to get a broader spectrum of colors.
Happy turkey day!

Dominick Cruz pencil drawing

Cruz displayed brutal efficiency in his long-awaited return.
I'm looking forward to the brawl with Dillashaw.

Kelly Knox pencil

Saw Mr. R. today, so it seemed right to scrawl a Mr. R. special while stuck in the hotel tonight.   If you have the right companions, you'll never be alone in a hotel.  I recommend #2 and #4 pencils and Strathmore sketch pads, but you'll need to figure out a companion(s) that works for you.  Cheers!

Thiago Alves pencil drawing

Had to tug the anti-nausea wrist bands on to sort-of finish this
30,000 foot, tray-table special.  Have a great weekend!

Uncanny X-Men 101 cover copy, sharpie and art stix

May need to hunt down some markers to color quicker.  Art stix take forever and the coverage ain't so hot.  Enjoy your weekend!

Priscilla Caripan pencil drawing

Working to rectify the surfeit of comic bookers
and appalling dearth of Mr. R. specials.  Cheers!

Spider-man sharpie and art stix

Spidey, with historic Streetsboro background, scrawled for Stan J.
Black splotch in upper left corner isn't new super villain unless the clip that holds the paper to the drawing board has evil intentions.  Cheers!

Green Arrow oil pastel

Received message from Dr. J about C's birthday (C being, of course, the wonderful character who told me I needed to do more comic bookers).
Me:  What character does C want for his birthday?
Dr. J:  He likes Green Arrow, but I don't know who that is.
Me (thinking):  Green Arrow is Oliver Queen

I managed to avoid replying that because, clearly, Dr. J wasn't asking about Green Arrow's Alter Ego.  But that's what happens when you think like a comic book weirdo.  :)

Joker oil pastel

At this juncture, C may regret asking for more comic bookers, lol.
Have a great weekend!

Jaimie Lynn Bernhardt pencil drawing

Today's Mr. R. special is Fight Mag girl Jaimie from Canton, Ohio.

Spider-man and Hulk/Wolverine comic bookers

A couple iconic Marvel cover copies.  Amazing #50 done with pastels and Hulk 340 colored with art stix and a pretty ineffective gray colored pencil.

Thor 351 cover with sharpie and art stix

Copying Simonson today (Thor 351).  Decided to include the background and use art stix to reach the smaller areas somewhat better.  Simonson's Thor run  definitely worth revisiting if you haven't read it in a while.  Cheers!

Captain America oil pastel

C requested more comic bookers, so....  This Kirby rip-off (Cap #193 cover) is on a 14 x 17 sheet.  Big enough to use a Sharpie to ink and oil pastels
(aka big thick adult crayons) to color.  Pastels are messy and fun.

Game of Thrones Daenerys pencil

Clearly, I'm out of control on George RR Martin
and need to get back to cage fighters
