Mr R Monday Special: Amber Heard, Aquaman

Aquaman movie came out so Mster and I saw Into the Spiderverse yesterday. Fun story - very true to Miles Morales -- and super "amazing" animation.

Happy, merry, whatever you celebrate!

Monday Comic Booker: Thor 151 cover

Yeah, I know Mondays are supposed to be Mr. R Special days,
but the Browns won AGAIN, which means the world is officially
upside down. Woo Hoo!!!

If the Brownies win the next three and the hated (not really) Steelers lose them and the Bad Browns lose two, we are in the playoffs Clev-burg!!!

One must dream, right?

Katherine Langford, 13 Reasons Why, Hannah Baker

Watched the NetFlix series' first season. Tough to stomach, but worth it.

Great article in last week's Economist describing decreasing suicide rates almost everywhere on the planet, except, alas, for in the USA.

If you live in the US and need help, call 800-273-8255, the national suicide prevention hotline to get help.

Friday Comic Booker: Amazing #238

Brownies v Texans Sunday - can we pull off another win?

Go Clev!

And, yes, I know I have spelling challenges, lol.

Mr R Monday Special: Lady Gaga

Saw the movie and enjoyed it. Also watched the Queen one; it's fun too.

Saw Queen in concert in ancient times when our solar system had nine planets.

Enjoy your week!

Mr R Monday: Jessica Biel, The Sinner

Watched Jessica Biel's The Sinner on Netflix. Great drama with
enough plot twists to drive a pretzel maker insane.

Delta tray table pencil: Constance Wu

This is what happens in Delta exit rows because all the MMA Fighter
magazines have gone bankrupt or strictly on-line.

Mr R Monday Special: Anna Torv, Mindhunter

How about those Brownies, sports fans?! The Raiders, who we play next Sunday, seem to be a total mess. Can Cleveland be 2-1-1 heading into week five?

Talk about football miracles.

Friday comic-booker: Deadpool

Had to scrawl this because someone pilfered Shuler's other Deadpool drawing and left the empty mailing tube inside his screen door.

Some people.

Have a great weekend!

Mr R Monday Special: Sophie Turner, X-Men Dark Phoenix

L-Blitz and me watched Saturday's UFC card.
If you missed it, you missed some good fights.

We done rooted for Cody, but you gotta respect TJ - he
took the punches and throttled the pride of Ulrichville.

Mr R Monday Special: Michelle Pfeiffer Catwoman

Pfeiffer appears in Ant-man & the Wasp, which, of course, I have yet to see.

Did see some of Saturday's UFC on Fox Event.
You can argue that Alvarez's 12-6 elbow
mistake cost him the fight,
but he might have lost anyway, who knows?

Good win for Poirier and also for Aldo.

It served as a much-needed reminder of how terrifyingly good Aldo is.

Friday comic booker: Black Panther, Jungle Action #10

Lack of lackluster posts caused by my inability to rebound from Cormier's wicked-quick dusting of Stipe.

Have a great weekend!

Monday, June 18, 2018

Mr R Monday Special: Olivia Munn, Psylocke

X-Men Apocalypse is on my DVR (haven't watched it). Yeah, yeah,
I realize it came out two years ago.

Enjoy your week!

Friday Comic Booker: Amazing Spider-Man #123 cover

Top is recently finished version of Romita's fantastic cover (gotta upgrade the markers because Sharpies seem to smear the small letters, of course it could be zee "artist" too, lol).
Bottom pencil one scrawled in 2007.

Hope this illustrates how that, if you stay after it, you will improve -- so stay after it!

Have a great weekend!!!!

LeBron James pencil drawing. Make LeBron an owner!

No matter what happens in the finals, this year, James has had the most incredible season of his ridiculously fantastic career. He's played on a level few can even imagine during this playoff run. Hope you've been a witness to true greatness.

As a life-long Cavs fan -- who listened to the Miracle in Richfield album on a record player while shooting bricks in Fully's concrete drive (Fully always played Bobby "Bingo" Smith) -- I'm grateful LeBron returned to Cleveland. Without him, we would have NEVER won a championship.

To encourage him to play the rest of his career in Cleveland, Dan Gilbert should give him ownership in the Cavs and a first right of refusal to purchase the team when he sells it. I know NBA "rules" prevent that, but the rules were written by men (not Gods) and rules are meant to be changed when they no longer make sense.

Give LeBron ownership of the Cavs- have him stay in Cleveland!

Mr R Monday Special: Becky Hammon

Becky Hammon could become the first female head coach of an NBA team.
Go Big Shot Becky!

Monday, May 7, 2018

Mr R Monday special: Scarlett Johansson with Black Widow toy

Will, L-Blitz, L and me all watched and enjoyed Avengers Infinity War.
No spoilers, but c'mon Russo bros, we gotta know what happens next, lol.

Go Cavs (sorry Raptors fans).

Friday Comic Booker: Ghost Rider #1

Fuzzy Jr always super "helpful" with the photos.
Original cover drawn by the talented, prolific and underappreciated Gil Kane.

My lettering is improving - it's all practice and that's all it is (maybe transitioning from Sharpies to real ink pens would also help, but.... lol).

Enjoy your weekend. Go Cavs!!!!

Friday comic booker: FF #72 cover

If you'll look closely, you'll see this is the World's Greates Comic Magazine. Oh well, somedays.... Clearly, picture assistant Fuzzy Sr. cares not one whisker.

Enjoy your weekend!

Friday Comic Booker: Captain America #176 cover

Cats always willing to assist. Just wish they could help with lettering, lol.
Enjoy your weekend!

Friday Comic Bookers - Mystique

Read Brian K. Vaughn's Mystique series on recent flight and tray tabled scrawled these.
He's from Cleveland, so you know it's a great story, unlike my Biscoff-cookie-powered pencils.

Have a fantastic weekend.
